I first met Jac somewhere between 2017-2019, at a pre-game at fellow APA contributor Shantih's apartment, before we were off to a party. Immediately I got a great, warm impression and vibe from her. She mentioned her work with WKDU, so after a night of partying, I checked out her music the next day.
I was pleasantly surprised to hear someone else who loves the continuum of old school to modern deep house. You can tell from her mixing style it comes from a history of being on the dance floor and letting loose. Her DJing home is Philadelphia's own WKDU, Drexel's radio station, where she hosted an incredible weekly radio show....during the pandemic no less!
Her APA mix is a great reflection of her knowledge of deep house. It's a selection of modern cuts with old school feel. And in the deep house tradition, she included a few tracks with progressive political messages.
