Living in Philadelphia, pre-pandemic in the 2010s, was an excellent occasion to inevitably meet Elvin T. We both traveled in the same music circles and came to similar conclusions of who and what we invested our emotional energy into regarding the scene at the time. It was a real treat seeing Elvin T spin at the legendary Soul Pickle parties, alongside fellow curator AJ Bell, a top of Warm Daddies on Sundays. Elvin T has played alongside a host of very iconic Detroit, Chicago and International acts with the Soul Pickle parties, including Rick Wade, Rick Wilhite, Whodat, Vince Lemiuex, Eddie C.

These days, you can catch Elvin T at the helm of the ship, curating his frequent party series void in Philadelphia. In a city lacking late late night options, void is the go-to choice for international eclectic club music with raw energy and a vibe and crowd to match.

For his APA mix, Elvin T has contributed a live mix opening the night from one of his void sets. Here you can listen to his dynamic range... it starts off cerebral and ambient, then further evolves into jazzy, crunchy deep house, then into obscure disco, all with vinyl warmth and rotary mixer crispness. Yes, Elvin T is a veteran of combining DIY aesthetics with masterful refinement, all the while utilizing a  selection that can keep the attention of the most deep digging  record collector.
