My first introduction to Eden Alison was meeting her at Sonic Garden, which is a periodic outdoor party series curated by Ancient Puzzle Arts member Dan Edwards. Our encounter was brief, as we were both immersing ourselves in the atmosphere, but we later connected online and have ever since bounded over a healthy dose of dance music nerdom, especially Kraftwerk.
I met Alison during the tail end of the height of the 2020 pandemic, so we were deprived of being on the same dancefloor for literally two years. It's been great to see Alison reemerge and get back into the spirit of playing out regularly in Philadelphia. Alison is diligent about keeping the rotation of her sets fresh, and is constantly updating her music library.
When I was listening to her contributed Ancient Puzzle Arts mix, I imagined a gold cruise ship riding the coast of Italy and everyone on board was wearing spandex. This month's mix is high energy, up beat, uplifting, cheeky and swimming with Diva vocals. Expect to get a serious cardio workout from this mix. Did I mention it's all vinyl? Enjoy!
