One of the best, most underground DIY parties I've ever been to was at the now defunct Dust Bunny space. You can't make this up...it was in an abandoned bank, and you had to crawl--Being John Malkovich style--to get into the main room. One of the main contributors to the space was wIRL, who through a labor of love kept the space running for quite a long time. During the pandemic the collective running the space had a very engaging Patreon account where I consumed a lot of exclusive content. This is how I got to know wIRL's point of views, through interviews, about his sociopolitical perspective in addition to his talented DJ skills.
After the pandemic, we were able to bump into each other in similar circles. I've always loved his honest, "just do it" DIY approach, as well as very expansive knowledge of underground techno. Finally, we coordinated together and now he is able to contribute a mix!
